We will start rehearsing for our 2026 Winter Concert on Tuesday, September 8th!
That’s the return date for members. Any potential new members will start to join us on the 15th or 22nd. I think Carol spreads them out so we can welcome them properly and get them registered. Returning members are much easier to register since we already have your contact info and just need to confirm that everything is current.
Returning members can help with this by logging into the website and checking your profile. Check the spelling of your names, your address, check that we have the best contact number for you, your email address (the one that you check) so we can send you important information, and please check your binder number.
Did you know that you can also add a profile picture and details about yourself? Did you know that you can find contact information for all of your choir friends on our website and it’s password protected? Logging in can be annoying but it’s worth it. Send your friends greeting cards or meet up together for coffee. Send an email or a text to find out how their trip went, or surgery. The choir is a community and we find friends and you’ll see we have lots in common.
Our first night back will be a little different because we’ve been told by the Region that they’re bumping us that night. We have our space at Trinity Newmarket reserved. We could have started the following week and had our room right from the beginning but we want to get started on our songs! I’m excited about this season. We’re continuing with a focus on Songs, and this year it’s Songs that Tell Stories. I’m especially excited about the Spring Concert because we have some excellent music from musicals, and opera, and there are so many good songs that tell stories!

Things have moved around a little, streamlined and simplified to make it easier to find things. Hopefully. Let me know if you have any good ideas to make it clearer and easier. Some of us have been meeting to reorganize our music library and to create a complete inventory, and we’re also talking about participating in a Holiday Market to promote our concert and recruit new members, especially men/low voices.
I love the fall! Every year, we have this time of new beginnings and exciting things to look forward to.
This summer has been beautiful, but I’m looking forward to September and seeing my choir friends again.
