Welcome

Welcome to Renate's Baton. This blog is mostly for and about my choir, The York Region Community Choir.

But, While I'm holding the baton, I'm in charge. So, if I want to talk about other parts of my life, I will. :)

The choir itself is a community and I'm discovering that we have a lot in common with one another besides our love of music and singing.

When I go off on a tangent, there is always a crowd coming along. Join us!

YRCC Spring 2026 Concert Recordings, Photos, Video

Go to the Members' Site. Log in. Find Concert Recordings. Choose 2026 Spring Concert Recordings

Click on All Songs. They're listed in alphabetical order. STE-000 and STE-001 are the whole concert, first half and second half.

Click on Photos and video clips. There are some pics there from a couple different phones as well as some short videos of parts of songs. It's not a lot, but it's nice!

Enjoy! Don't we sound fabulous?! You can't hear that when you're singing your part amoung the people in your section. The harmonies are wonderful. It feels good, doesn't it?

Also, take a look at yourself to see if you're smiling once in a while, watching me, etc. Listen to how good it sounds when we all start and stop at the same time. Watch and see how good it looks when people look up from their binders. We do a good job, but it could be better.
